In the book, 'Art as Therapy' authors Alain de Botton and John Armstrong encourage artists to reclaim our role as assistants in mankind's search for understanding, hope, and fulfillment.  They invite us to be "unapologetically didactic".  Art should be transparent, not opaque.

'Unexpected' frames the effect of a simple kindness against the background of a personal mansion, dedicated to the gaudy self-absorbtion of its builder, John Ringling.
