The Sewing Lesson. Oil on linen/ACP. 14 x 19 3/4 inches unframed, 18 1/2 by 24 inches framed,
The event was a two day training for schoolgirls regarding menstrual hygiene. The girls were taught anatomy, hygiene, self-defense, etc. And they were taught how to sew their own reusable hygiene kits. Word got out in the village and the older girls came. Then the mothers, the grandmothers, the aunties. None of them knew how to sew, though they would not admit it. So they"helped" their daughters and they all learned together.
Offered as an original oil, nicely framed. Prints available on request.
