Repetitions of Life. Oil on canvas on aluminum composite panel, 22 by 13.5 inches, 30 by 21.5 inches framed. Completed May 2022.
Repetitions of Life is part of a series examining the subconscious effects of the pandemic. Unexpected loss has effects that spread like ripples out from the event. A man and his daughter have had such a loss, and they are doing the right thing. They are spending time--together--processing. They are watching the repetitions of life unfold before them, the ebb and flow of stop lights, traffic, movement. Gradually they allow the color to return to their lives, their infinitely bigger lives.
