In Revelation 6 the Lamb opens the fifth seal which reveals the martyrs under the throne.  In verse 11  "...they were each given a white robe, and they were told to rest a little while longer until the number would be completed of their fellow servants and their brothers and sisters, who were going to be killed just as they had been."

The picture asks: What does it look like when they see the last ones coming in?  In keeping with the theme of the Great Reversal, the last look like the least. They are welcomed with open arms.  At last the party can start!

As the picture developed, so did the idea that white contains and reflects all colors.  The white robes are a white that contains and shares all of the spectrum, reflecting the joy of the wearers:))
